NTT Data are seeking an experienced Network Test Automation Engineer to join a high profile technology modernisation program delivering critical infrastructure that supports essential national services.
- Initial 6 month contract
- Hybrid work arrangement – 3 days per week in office
- Due to security clearance requirements, applications will only be considered from Australian Citizens who can successfully obtain and maintain an NV1 Security Clearance

You will play a key role in system verification, validation, and automated testing across a sophisticated network platform.
About the Role
Reporting to the Platform & Applications Lead, you will be responsible for supporting and executing verification and validation activities across the program's test environments. You will contribute to the development of automated testing frameworks, system-level test documentation, and end-to-end validation activities, ensuring solutions meet both functional and non-functional requirements.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving complex technical challenges, improving test processes, and working within large-scale enterprise network environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop automated test scripts to perform end-to-end network testing across defined test scenarios
- Create and maintain system test plans, test procedures, and supporting test documentation
- Execute and coordinate system testing activities in accordance with established processes and standards
- Support verification and validation activities across system and service environments
- Identify, assess, and communicate testing risks, issues, and improvement opportunities
- Work closely with engineering, quality assurance, configuration management, and testing teams
- Investigate and resolve technical issues using structured engineering methodologies
- Ensure testing remains aligned to project requirements throughout the delivery lifecycle
- Support test environment management and configuration control activities
- Assist with the coordination of testing activities across multiple stakeholders and suppliers
About You
You are a proactive and technically capable engineer who thrives in collaborative environments and has a strong foundation in both test automation and networking technologies.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Strong Python development experience (2+ years)
- Experience building scalable and modular test frameworks
- Background in software testing, system testing, verification & validation, or COTS testing
- Understanding of networking concepts and protocols including TCP/IP, BGP, IS-IS, MPLS, Firewall technologies
- Experience developing automated test solutions and scripts
- Previous experience in system integration, verification, or validation testing
- Ability to obtain and maintain an Australian Government NV1 Security Clearance
Desirable Experience
- PyTest, Robot Framework, and GitLab
- Automated testing within enterprise network environments
- Large-scale system deployment or SDLC experience
- Validation and sustainment of test bed environments
- Jira and Agile delivery environments
- Experience working within highly regulated, safety critical, or security focused industries
- Exposure to telecommunications, voice communications, VoIP, radio systems, or large networked platforms
