About Us
Adoption Services Victoria is part of the Civil and Enforcement Services Group of the Department of Justice and Community Safety.
Adoption Services delivers a range of services under the Adoption Act 1984 including counselling to people considering placing a child for adoption, assessing people to be approved to adopt a child from Victoria or overseas and providing records to people who have been affected by past adoptions.
What you will do
As coordinator, adoption support and funded services, you will lead key operational work across Adoption Services Victoria.
You will help improve services, support your team and make sure work meets legal and policy requirements.
You will:
- lead daily operations and support the team leader of the adoption support unit
- manage funding, finance processes and contracts for adoption service providers
- prepare clear briefs and memos for executive management
- coordinate projects and improve systems for adoption records, including digitisation and secure storage
- provide practical guidance that supports quality work and clear written instructions across the unit.
About you
A tertiary qualification in business, library sciences or a related field is highly desirable. Knowledge of adoption services, similar fields or Victorian Government administration will help you succeed.
You should also have:
- strong knowledge of government processes and the ability to learn new policies, systems and procedures quickly
- clear communication skills and the ability to tailor your message for different audiences
- sound judgement, problem-solving skills and the ability to coordinate projects and improve systems
- collaborative leadership, flexibility and the ability to build productive working relationships.
