A fantastic opportunity is available for an experienced pharmacist ready to step into a leadership role at Slade Pharmacy within Epworth Freemasons (Albert Street campus), East Melbourne.
About the Role
We are seeking a Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) to join our collaborative Slade Pharmacy team at Epworth Freemasons, Albert Street. This role offers the opportunity to lead its dispensary operations within a well-established and highly regarded private hospital known for maternity, women’s health and acute surgical services.
You will be responsible for overseeing the day to day running of the onsite dispensary, ensuring safe, efficient and high-quality medication supply across inpatient wards, maternity services and surgical areas. Working closely with the Pharmacy Manager, pharmacy team and other healthcare professionals, you will play a key role in supporting excellent patient outcomes and experience.

Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily dispensary operations and ensure safe, accurate and timely medication supply
- Coordinate workflow, dispensing activity and stock management within the pharmacy
- Collaborate with hospital nurses, doctors and allied health teams to support patient care
- Maintain accurate PBS claiming, prescription management and patient account processes
- Lead, support and develop a positive team culture while driving continuous improvement
- Provide clinical support and participate in pharmacy initiatives and projects as required
About You
You are a motivated and patient focused pharmacist who is ready to take the next step in your career. You thrive in a collaborative hospital environment and are confident making decisions to ensure pharmacy services run smoothly and safely.
You bring a practical, solutions focused mindset and a genuine commitment to delivering high quality patient care. Previous leadership experience is desirable but not essential. What matters most is your willingness to step up, build capability and support your team.
Skills and Experience:
- General registration as a pharmacist with AHPRA
- Previous experience as a pharmacist in an Australian or New Zealand hospital or community setting
- Previous leadership experience in a community or hospital setting (desired)
- Strong communication and relationship building skills
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a close-knit team
- Organised, adaptable and comfortable managing competing priorities
- A positive attitude and passion for delivering safe, efficient and compassionate pharmacy services
