What You’ll Be Doing
As our Senior SRE Engineer, you’ll play a critical role in ensuring the reliability, performance, and operational excellence of our platforms. You’ll combine strong software engineering capability with deep SRE principles to build automation, uplift engineering maturity, and evolve our observability stack—including New Relic—to enable proactive detection and continuous improvement. You'll act as both a technical leader and mentor, influencing how reliability is designed and embedded across the organisation.
You will:
- Lead the design and implementation of reliability patterns across services and cloud platforms
- Build automation, tooling, and self‑service capabilities using strong software engineering practices
- Operate and evolve observability platforms (New Relic and supporting tools)
- Define and maintain SLIs, SLOs, error budgets, and reliability dashboards
- Identify and eliminate toil through automation, codification, and process optimisation
- Lead root cause analysis and incident learning to drive lasting improvements
- Implement and manage infrastructure using Terraform and IaC approaches
- Mentor DevOps, Cloud, and Software Engineers in SRE, automation, and observability
- Partner with architecture and engineering leadership to embed reliability into system design

What Sets You Apart
We’d love to hear from professionals who have:
- Strong expertise in SRE principles—SLIs/SLOs, error budgets, resilience patterns, capacity planning
- Deep programming experience (Python, Go, Java, C#, etc.) with proven automation capability
- Hands‑on experience with observability platforms, particularly New Relic
- Proficiency with Terraform and cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
- Strong understanding of distributed systems, networking, and microservices
- Experience influencing engineering direction and leading reliability initiatives
- (Desirable) Experience with OpenTelemetry, chaos engineering, CI/CD pipelines, and large‑scale systems
