ABOUT THE ROLE
As a Retail Security Specialist, you will take ownership of crime-related loss management in high-loss retail environments. This hands-on, full-time role combines a strong shop-floor presence with incident response, evidence management, security technology and stakeholder engagement. You will be the vital link between store operations, the Security Operations Centre and law enforcement.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintain a confident, visible presence on the shop floor to deter theft and help keep customers and team members safe
- Respond to incidents in real time and support covert security personnel when required
- Build productive working relationships with local police, Centre Management and security teams
- Review CCTV footage, organise evidence, complete timely reports and respond to police requests
- Monitor loss-prevention technology alerts in partnership with the Security Operations Centre and escalate high-harm offenders
- Support investigations into internal stock theft and other security concerns
- Ensure safety devices and product-protection measures are used correctly
- Help maintain the physical security of store premises
- Provide practical support for high-risk products, threatening situations, shop-floor security and security technology

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND QUALIFICATIONS
- HIGHLY PREFERRED - Retail Security Supervisor experience
- MUST HAVE - Current Victorian Security Licence
- MUST HAVE - Current First Aid Certificate
- Minimum 3 years' experience in retail security in a supervisor capacity, loss prevention, or a similar security-focused role
- Current National Police Check
- Strong understanding of loss prevention best practices, security systems, and criminal law related to retail theft
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with team members, customers, and law enforcement
- Proficient in the use of surveillance equipment including CCTV systems, alarm systems, and other security technologies
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to make quick, informed decisions under pressure
- Exceptional attention to detail and ability to identify suspicious behaviour in a retail environment
- Physical capacity to stand or walk for extended periods and respond to emergency situations swiftly
