Trade Assistant – Pipeline Welding (FIFO)

Weldteck Pty Ltd is seeking motivated Trade Assistants to join our pipeline construction crews on major oil and gas projects across Australia. This is an excellent opportunity to work alongside highly experienced coded pipeline welders while gaining valuable industry experience.
Boilermakers looking to transition into pipeline coded welding are strongly encouraged to apply. Previous pipeline experience is preferred but not essential—we value the right attitude, strong work ethic, and willingness to learn.
Position Details
- FIFO from Adelaide or Brisbane only
- 3 weeks on / 2 weeks off roster
- Subcontractor (ABN) position
- Competitive hourly rates

Key Responsibilities
- Assist pipeline welders with daily welding operations
- Prepare pipe, fittings, and consumables
- Grinding, bevelling, cleaning, and fit-up assistance
- Operate hand and power tools safely
- General labouring and housekeeping duties
- Maintain a high standard of safety and quality
- Assist with equipment setup and maintenance
About You
- Previous experience in pipeline construction, welding, fabrication, or heavy industry is preferred but not essential
- Boilermaker/fabrication background highly regarded
- Strong work ethic and willingness to learn pipeline welding techniques
- Able to work safely in remote environments
- Physically fit and capable of manual work
- Reliable, punctual, and a team player
Essential Requirements
- Current Australian Driver's Licence
- White Card
- Ability to pass pre-employment medical and drug & alcohol screening
- Valid ABN
- Current Public Liability Insurance
- Current ReturnToWorkSA Insurance (or equivalent workers compensation insurance applicable to your state)
