Flyin' Fox Ice Blocks is a boutique, certified organic, frozen food manufacturer based in South Murwillumbah looking for an enthusiastic team member to work in our commercial kitchen. You’ll be making, and taste testing beautiful, healthy, fruit and organic milk ice blocks.
About the Role
The position is causal and will be 1 - 3 weekdays per week only to begin with, between the hours of 6am - 2pm or 7am-3pm, subject to rostering.
Training will be given, some experience in food preparation is essential (juice bar or barista is sufficient). A perfect transition for someone who enjoys the hands-on aspects of hospitality, without the customer service!
Key Responsibilities
- In this role, you will:
- Wash, slice, juice, blend juice, fresh fruit and herbs.
- Preparation of juice and dairy mixes from recipes and procedures by accurate weighing, mixing, pouring and conducting quality control.
- Operate machinery with the team. This involves using, blenders, slicers and loading the flow wrapping machine.
- Follow cleaning schedules.
- Labelling and packing cartons. Help team pack frozen carton and pallet orders.
- Filling in the various forms required by the NSW Food Authority and HACCP standards that document controls and cleaning schedules i.e. temperatures and ingredient weights.
About You
- This role would suit someone who likes being active, organised and involved.
- Works well as part of a team, including communicating well with others and able to ask for guidance or help.
- Has commercial kitchen, juice bar or barista experience.
- Can confidently lift 10kg alone and 25kg with another team member ie. bags of sugar, cocoa powder or crates of milk.
- Has some experience following cleaning schedules in line with food safety standards.
- Is prepared to adhere to our company’s specific food safety rules as we are NSW Food Authority licensed, and HACCP accredited.
- Is appropriately groomed and dressed for working in the food industry.
- Is attentive, enthusiastic, and hard working.
- Is reliable and punctual.
- Enjoys working with fresh produce.
- Has some interest in organics, local produce, food quality, nutrition and health.

Pay: From $32.18 per hour
