The Opportunity
MHIAA is looking for a People & Culture Coordinator to join our People & Culture team at Regents Park, NSW. This is a permanent full-time role reporting to the Head of People & Culture, with onsite, work from home and flexible working arrangements available subject to conditions.
The role supports employees, managers and the wider People & Culture team across the employee lifecycle. You’ll coordinate core HR processes, maintain accurate people records, support learning and development, and help ensure our policies and practices remain consistent and compliant.
Success in this role will come from balancing priorities well, building trusted stakeholder relationships and delivering accurate, timely support while maintaining confidentiality.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Coordinate day-to-day People & Culture processes, administration, projects and key focus areas.
- Support onboarding, induction and exit processes to help deliver a consistent employee experience.
- Coordinate learning and development activities and maintain accurate training records.
- Maintain electronic and hard copy HR records, employee data and documentation.
- Coordinate workers compensation claims and support employee health and wellbeing activities.
- Provide practical guidance to employees and managers on people matters, performance management and MHIAA policies.
- Support recruitment activities, annual performance management and the annual salary review process.
- Review and update HR policies, procedures and employee programs, and coordinate HR events and activities.
- Liaise with payroll, HRIS providers, benefits providers and internal stakeholders to keep employee information accurate and resolve issues.
What We’re Looking For
- A tertiary qualification in Business Administration, Human Resources or a similar discipline.
- At least 3 years’ prior experience in Human Resources.
- Sound knowledge of HR theory and practice, with the ability to keep up to date with changes in HR-related laws and regulations.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain confidentiality when handling employee information.
- Confident written and verbal communication skills and the ability to build effective stakeholder relationships.
- Practical conflict resolution skills and the ability to provide clear, professional support to employees and managers.
- Strong organisation skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and changing business requirements.
- Confidence working with HRIS platforms and employee programs, including maintaining accurate employee data and supporting system administration.
