Floating Dock Operator

Ventia is seeking an experienced Floating Dock Operator to join our team at the Australian Marine Complex Common User Facility in Henderson.
The AMC Common User Facility is a multi-user industrial facility featuring a deep-water port, floating dock and transfer system, specialised load-out wharves, fabrication halls and extensive assembly areas. This is a unique opportunity to support critical marine operations within one of Western Australia’s key maritime facilities.
About the Role
Reporting to the Lifting Systems Supervisor you will support the safe and efficient operation of the floating dock during vessel docking and undocking activities.
Working closely with the Dockmaster, you will also assist with docking cradle preparation, planned maintenance, contractor supervision and the ongoing reliability of the floating dock and associated lifting systems.
Key Responsibilities

Operate the floating dock during vessel docking and undocking under the direction of the Dockmaster.

Prepare the floating dock ahead of docking and undocking activities.

Assist with the assembly and disassembly of docking cradles.

Support the maintenance of the floating dock, lifting systems and associated infrastructure.

Monitor users and contractors to ensure activities comply with facility rules, safety requirements and service agreements.

Issue permits to work, including hot work, confined space, working at heights and energy isolation permits.

Maintain accurate operational, maintenance and compliance records.

Identify hazards, assess risks and implement appropriate controls.

Support emergency response, incident reporting and continuous improvement activities.

Maintain safe and effective housekeeping across the floating dock.
About You
You will bring transferable experience from marine maintenance, shipbuilding and repair, mechanical fitting, heavy industry, lifting operations or another complex plant environment. While previous floating dock experience is not essential, you will be mechanically minded, safety-focused and comfortable working hands-on with operational teams, contractors and clients.
