About the role
United Cardiology is seeking an experienced Medical Receptionist to join our team at our Chatswood/Eastwood/Hurstville/ Parramatta practice on a full-time basis.
As the first point of contact for our patients, you will play an important role in creating a welcoming and professional experience while supporting the efficient day-to-day operation of the practice. You will manage patient enquiries, appointments, administrative processes and reception duties, while demonstrating professionalism, compassion and a strong commitment to patient care.
Key responsibilities
- Welcome patients upon arrival and manage the reception desk in a friendly, professional and organised manner.
- Schedule, confirm and manage patient appointments using practice management software.
- Respond to patient enquiries and direct them to the appropriate medical staff or department.
- Process patient registrations and maintain accurate patient records and documentation.
- Answer telephone calls, take messages and ensure timely communication with patients and healthcare providers.
- Process patient payments, manage invoices and respond to billing enquiries with discretion.
- Coordinate with doctors and medical staff to support efficient clinic operations and patient flow.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with relevant health privacy legislation and practice policies.
- Perform general administrative duties, including filing, data entry and document management.
- Assist with patient education materials and provide information about the services offered by the practice.
- Provide support at other clinic locations from time to time, where required.
What we're looking for
- Previous experience as a Medical Receptionist or in a healthcare reception or administration role.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with patients, doctors and colleagues.
- Proficiency in practice management software and Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks in a busy environment.
- A high level of discretion and the ability to manage sensitive patient information confidentially.
- A commitment to delivering excellent customer service and supporting patient comfort and satisfaction.
- An understanding of medical terminology and basic healthcare practices.
- A flexible and cooperative approach, with a willingness to support the wider team during busy periods.
- Availability to travel between clinics occasionally, as required.

Pay: $27.00 – $32.00 per hour
