About the role
The City of Unley is seeking a proactive and customer-focused Waste Management Officer to deliver and support Council’s day-to-day waste management services. Working closely with East Waste, you will coordinate operational waste services, monitor performance standards, support service improvements, facilitate Tricky Waste for Council and provide administrative support to City Operations.
Reporting to the Manager City Operations, you will act as the key contact for waste management enquiries, coordinate waste management requirements for Council events, prepare reports and support the effective delivery of Council’s waste services. This role will have a service improvement focus with priority on improving compliance with Councils approved Policies.
To succeed in this role, you will have:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with customers, contractors and stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and administrative skills, including experience monitoring financial records, reporting and data analysis.
- The ability to interpret and implement approved Council Policy
- The ability to work collaboratively, manage competing priorities and deliver high-quality customer-focused outcomes.
- The ability to collaborate with our primary service provider, East Waste, in ensuring resident receive appropriate waste management services within the agreed Service Level Agreement
This role is part of the City Operations Administration Team and also provide support as required for general Operational customer service.
It will also lead the onsite tricky waste collection service which will require outdoor work and physical activity from time to time.
