About the role:
As a Senior Finance Officer, you will provide advice, analytics and insights into the financial health of the department's portfolio budget. Monitoring and assessing the utilisation of the portfolio budget, you will prepare reports and identify emerging issues and options to address.
Reporting to the Manager, Portfolio Funding Sufficiency, the Senior Finance Officer will prepare management reports, forecasts and scenario modelling. Monitoring of the departmental and portfolio efficiency reforms also forms part of the role of the Senior Finance Officer, tracking progress and identifying risks.
The role also requires strong engagement across divisions of the department to develop an in depth understanding of the portfolio budget, the priorities of the Government and the core outcomes required.

About you:
Qualifications / Specialist Expertise:

A tertiary qualification in finance or accounting or similar field.

An understanding of The Financial Management Act and Resource Management Framework would be an advantage.
