The Workday HCM Functional Consultant is responsible for the on-going optimisation and support of BDO’s Workday Human Capital Management (HCM) product.
As part of the Product team, you will work closely with P&C to ensure the Workday platform is reliable, secure, and effectively utilised.
This role is offered as an initial 7-month contract (4 days per week), with the potential for extension or conversion to permanent based on performance and business needs.
Key responsibilities include:
Provide day-to-day support and administration of the Workday HCM product, including Core HCM, Absence, Recruitment, Performance, and Talent Management.
Troubleshoot and resolve system issues, incidents, and user queries ensuring minimal business disruption.
Support Workday business processes by monitoring, maintaining, and enhancing configurations to meet evolving business needs.
Participate in testing activities across releases and changes.
Contribute to Workday release management by assessing impact of biannual releases and supporting feature adoption where relevant.
Develop and maintain documentation including business process flows, configuration design, and user guidance.

Adhere to established change management processes, ensuring all system updates are appropriately documented, tested, approved, and deployed in line with governance standards
About You
This role is suited to an individual seeking the opportunity to leverage their Workday HCM expertise in a hands-on, internal support team.
The successful candidate will demonstrate:
Proven experience working with Workday (HCM) in a delivery, optimisation or support role
Strong knowledge of Workday functionality, including configuration, security, business process frameworks, and reporting (e.g. calculated fields).
Experience partnering with stakeholders and cross-functional teams to deliver practical, fit-for-purpose solutions that support business outcomes.
The ability to take ownership of issues and enhancements by providing timely resolution.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to troubleshoot system issues and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
Experience in eliciting, clarifying and validating business requirements.
A Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business or a related discipline is highly desirable.
Workday certifications are highly regarded.
