About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated Standards & Compliance Lead to join our Product Development & Innovation team in North Plympton on a 12-month fixed term contract covering parental leave.
This role is critical to maintaining Philmac's product certifications, regulatory compliance and NATA laboratory accreditation. You will act as the subject matter expert for Australian and international product standards, ensuring our products continue to meet evolving compliance requirements and industry expectations.
Working closely with Product Development, Quality and Manufacturing teams, you will manage certification programs, coordinate testing activities, support audits and provide technical guidance on standards interpretation.
What Will You Do?
Reporting to the Product Development Manager, your responsibilities will include:
Managing certification and approval processes for existing and new products
Maintaining awareness of Australian and international standards and regulatory requirements
Coordinating product recertification programs and surveillance testing activities
Ensuring ongoing compliance with NATA accreditation and ISO 17025 requirements
Supporting internal and external audits, including NATA and certification body audits
Developing and managing test plans for certification, product development and quality investigations
Interpreting test results and providing recommendations to key stakeholders
Supporting product quality investigations, customer claims and non-conformance reporting activities
Maintaining laboratory records, test reports and certification databases
Working collaboratively with Product Development, Quality and Manufacturing teams to ensure compliance requirements are met
Identifying opportunities to improve testing processes, systems and laboratory operations.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science or a related discipline
3-5 years demonstrated experience working with NATA accreditation requirements (preferred)
Strong knowledge of Australian Standards, product certification and compliance processes
Experience within manufacturing, product testing, laboratory, quality or engineering environment
Understanding of ISO 17025 and/or ISO 9001 principles
Experience managing internal and external audit activities
Strong analytical, problem-solving and report-writing skills
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple certification timelines and priorities, find solutions and drive to meet deadlines
High attention to detail and the ability to interpret technical standards and requirements
Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
Ability to work autonomously while collaborating effectively across teams.
Experience within manufacturing, plumbing, irrigation, water, industrial products or related industries will be highly regarded.
