Position Summary
Blue sky auto is privately owned automotive recyling business, focusing on all model vehicle part sales, repair and export operations. We have a strong presence in dandenong south VIC from the last 10 years and have a reputation for being one of the top industry leaders.
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Light Vehicle Mechanic to inspect, diagnose, repair, and maintain passenger vehicles and light commercial vehicles. The successful candidate will ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with manufacturer specifications and Australian workplace standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and electronic faults using diagnostic equipment and computers .
- Perform scheduled servicing and preventative maintenance on light vehicles.
- Repair and replace engines, transmissions, clutches, brakes, suspension, steering, and exhaust systems.
- Conduct testing to ensure optimum performance.
- Inspect vehicles and identify worn or damaged components.
- Test drive vehicles before and after repairs to verify the quality of work.
- Maintain accurate service records and repair documentation.
- Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety (WHS) policies and procedures.
- Keep the workshop clean, organised, and safe.
- Communicate repair findings and recommendations to service advisors or customers.
Skills and Qualifications
- Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology (or equivalent recognised qualification).
- Minimum relevant post-qualification experience of atleast 1 year as a Light motor Vehicle Mechanic.
- Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
- Ability to use modern diagnostic tools and workshop equipment.
- Good understanding of petrol, diesel, hybrid, and modern vehicle systems.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Current Australian Driver Licence and forklift licence (preferred).
Desirable Skills
- Experience with multiple vehicle brands.
- Experience with hybrid and electric vehicles.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, bend, lift, and work in a workshop environment.
- Ability to lift components and equipment safely.
- Manual dexterity and good hand-eye coordination.
Working Conditions
- Full-time position.
- Workshop-based environment using specialised tools and equipment.

Salary
Competitive salary based on qualifications, skills, and experience between 82,000$ - 85,000$ plus applicable superannuation and other employment benefits.
