This is a hands-on clinical leadership role suited to an experienced ECC nurse ready to step into greater responsibility and career progression, whilst still remaining involved in clinical shifts in a team-based care model.
The
Senior Veterinary Nurse combines advanced clinical nursing with shift leadership, team mentorship and operational support. Supervise hospital operations during shifts, support ICU/CCU critical care cases, guide nursing staff and contribute to maintaining high clinical and cultural standards.
As this is a 24/7 emergency hospital, availability for nights, weekends and public holidays is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and support the nursing team during shifts
- Operate autonomously with wide emergency and critical care cases
- Assist with workflow coordination and shift management
- Demonstrating flexibility and a team first mindset across both clinical and administrative shifts
- Contribute to policy, training and continuous improvement initiatives
- Promote positive team culture and AES Core Values
About You:
- Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing or Bachelor of Veterinary Technology
- Minimum 3+ years’ nursing experience with demonstrated leadership responsibilities
- Strong ECC skills and confidence in critical care
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Resilient, adaptable and solutions-focused
