The Brisbane Operations Unit is seeking a temporary Service Coordinator to lead and manage workshop operations, ensuring the efficient maintenance, servicing and inspection of plant and equipment for internal and selected external customers. This role is responsible for coordinating workflow across both workshop and field service activities, working closely with project teams to deliver timely, cost-effective outcomes while maintaining a strong focus on safety and quality.
In this role, you will:
- Manage day-to-day workshop operations in line with industry best practice, within a commercially competitive environment and in accordance with the RoadTek Business Management System. Coordinate and schedule the inspection, servicing, maintenance and repair of plant and equipment to ensure reliability and availability.
- Effectively allocate work and manage workflow, including field service activities, through proactive consultation with project teams and stakeholders.
- Provide technical guidance and support to staff, and where required, actively participate in maintenance and repair work, ensuring all activities comply with manufacturer specifications.
- Promote and maintain a strong safety culture by ensuring compliance with Workplace Health and Safety legislation and environmental regulations, and by driving continuous improvement in safe work practices.
- Lead, coach and mentor team members, supporting performance and development through RoadTek's performance management processes.
- Manage workshop financial performance, including cost control, cost recovery and identifying efficiency improvements to meet budget targets.
- Identify capability requirements and address gaps through workforce planning, recruitment, and the development of training plans, including apprenticeships and ongoing staff development.
Mandatory qualifications and conditions
- Relevant trade-based qualification (e.g. Certificate III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology).
- Experience in a supervisory role with at least 5 years' experience as a tradesperson.
- Due to this role having access to sensitive data, a criminal history check will be undertaken prior to appointment to the role.
- Applicants must possess a current, valid Queensland "C" class driver's licence or equivalent.
- A reasonable amount of travel consistent with industry standards will be required throughout the operational unit and/or the State. You will be entitled to expenses and allowances for such travel.
