Australian Multicultural Community Centre Foundation Limited (AMCC) is seeking a proactive, culturally responsive, and community-focused Marketing & Community Engagement Officer to support the promotion and engagement activities of the organisation's aged care and community support services.
The successful candidate will play a key role in increasing awareness of AMCC's aged care programs and strengthening engagement with culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) communities, older persons, carers, families, and community stakeholders.
The role will support outreach, communication, and participant engagement activities to promote inclusive access to aged care information, services, programs, and community initiatives.
This position will contribute to the organisation's community engagement objectives under aged care service delivery activities. The position reports directly to the Director/Program Manager.
Program: Aged Care and Community Support Services
Employment Type: Part-Time (approximately 1 day per week)
Location: Broadmeadows VIC and community-based service locations
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Promote AMCC aged care and community support services through culturally appropriate marketing and engagement strategies
- Develop flyers, brochures, social media content, newsletters, and promotional materials
- Assist with maintaining and improving AMCC's online and social media presence
- Support outreach activities targeting multicultural communities, older persons, carers, and community groups
- Build and maintain positive relationships with community stakeholders, local organisations, service providers, and multicultural networks
- Assist in organising and promoting community events, information sessions, cultural activities, and aged care awareness initiatives
- Support participant engagement and community participation across aged care programs
- Assist with gathering participant feedback and identifying opportunities to improve community engagement outcomes
- Ensure communications and promotional materials are culturally inclusive, respectful, and accessible
- Maintain appropriate records of engagement activities and promotional initiatives
- Work collaboratively with staff, volunteers, and external stakeholders to support organisational objectives
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Experience in marketing, communications, community engagement, social media management, or related fields
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building abilities
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) communities
- Creative, proactive, and organised approach to community engagement and promotion
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment
- Basic graphic design and content creation skills (e.g. Canva, social media content, flyers, promotional materials)
- Current National Police Check
- Current Working with Children Check (WWCC)
DESIRABLE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Experience working within aged care, community services, multicultural organisations, or not-for-profit environments
- Understanding of culturally safe and inclusive communication practices
- Multilingual ability or experience engaging multicultural communities
- Experience coordinating or supporting community events and outreach initiatives
- Knowledge of social media platforms, digital engagement, and community-based marketing strategies
WORK SCHEDULE:
This is a flexible part-time position and may include office-based work, community outreach activities, attendance at community events and information sessions, and occasional evening or weekend activities where required.
COMPENSATION:
Remuneration will be paid in accordance with the SCHADS Award and will be based on qualifications, skills, experience, and the scope of duties performed.
