A day in the life…
You’re a driven Editor joining our News team in Sydney that will be liaising with Producers/ Reporters to achieve the required polished result!
You will be reporting to the Media Operations Manager.
More specifically, you will
Edit high-quality news content with speed and accuracy, consistently meeting tight broadcast and publication deadlines.
Collaborate closely with Producers and Reporters to deliver compelling stories that align with editorial and creative objectives.
Thrive in a fast-paced newsroom environment, managing multiple priorities and delivering under pressure with minimal supervision.
Maintain exceptional attention to detail and quality control across all edited content to ensure broadcast-ready standards.
Contribute to a positive, safe and inclusive workplace culture, demonstrating professionalism, teamwork and respect while supporting a rotating shift roster, including weekends.
What will you need
Proven experience editing news, current affairs or fast-turnaround broadcast content in a deadline-driven environment.
Strong proficiency in professional video editing software, with the ability to produce high-quality content quickly and accurately. Quantel experience desirable.
Excellent editorial judgement and attention to detail, ensuring content meets broadcast standards and editorial guidelines.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritise workloads effectively, and perform under pressure in a fast-paced newsroom.
Strong communication and collaboration skills, with experience working closely with Producers, Reporters and broader production teams to deliver engaging news stories.
