We are looking for courteous, customer-focused Deli Assistants who are committed to providing customers with the best service possible.
As a Deli Assistant, you will be responsible for preparing, presenting, and serving a wide range of delicatessen items including sliced meats, cheeses, antipasto, and other gourmet goods. You'll work closely with your team to ensure the deli is well-stocked, clean, and running smoothly throughout the day, while delivering outstanding service to every customer.
This role is ideal for someone with a passion for fresh food, excellent attention to detail, and strong customer service skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Delivering friendly and knowledgeable customer service at the deli counter
- Slicing, cutting, and grating a range of smallgoods and cheeses to order
- Preparing and packaging deli products for display and sale
- Ensuring product displays are visually appealing, clean, and well-stocked
- Assisting with stock rotation, labelling, and checking use-by dates
- Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene in all food prep areas
- Operating deli equipment safely and efficiently (slicers, graters, scales, etc.)
- Following all food safety, handling, and OH&S procedures
- Working as part of a team to ensure smooth daily operations and a positive work environment
What We’re Looking For:
- Previous deli or supermarket experience preferred
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented
- Willingness to learn and follow procedures
- Flexible availability between the hours of 8am and 6pm including weekends

Pay: $25.00 – $35.00 per hour
