Key selection criteria
• Extensive knowledge of, or the ability to develop a good working knowledge of the Education and Training Reform
Act 2006, Education and Training Reform Regulations 2017, and minimum standards for school and school boarding
premises registration.
- Extensive knowledge of, or the ability to develop a good working knowledge of Ministerial Order No. 1359 –
Implementing the Child Safe Standards – Managing the risk of child abuse in schools and school boarding premises
(Child Safe Standards).
- Proven ability and experience in assessing and auditing compliance against legislative and regulatory requirements
and against a clear and consistent set of criteria.
- Excellent attention to detail with experience in establishing project plans, tracking processes and delivering
outcomes within tight timelines.
- Ability to assess risks and think critically to drive and provide solutions in a compliance environment.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to provide considered and actionable feedback to
proprietors and schools and prepare formal reports to a high standard.
- Highly developed interpersonal and stakeholder management skills, with strong customer service orientation and
empathetic approach.
- Ability to represent VCEA professionally and in accordance with our mission and values.
Skills, qualifications, and pre-requisites
Previous Three years or more experience in educational administration, law, audit, compliance, risk or a
Experience/s related field.
Experience in onsite auditing against regulatory requirements across other industries would be
highly regarded.
Qualifications Relevant tertiary qualification in risk, audit, legal or other relevant field.

Other requirements An understanding of and commitment to the safety, wellbeing, and protection of children,
requiring that you:
a. Must hold and maintain a current Victorian Working with Children Check or be
eligible to receive same upon joining the organisation.
b. Must also undergo and receive a clear National Criminal History Check (NCHC)
upon employment and during your employment with VCEA. All employees are
required not to have been charged with, nor found guilty of any offence which
would be incompatible with employment with VCEA.
Must hold and maintain a valid Victorian driver’s license, access to a reliable car and be
willing to travel to schools in metropolitan and regional Victoria.
Willingness to take reasonable care for your health and safety in the workplace and for the
health and safety of others who may be affected by what you do or don’t do.
