Your Role: Under the supervision and direction of the Manager, Safegaurding and Assurance, the Practice Lead - Aboriginal will provide leadership and support to a small team of identified Practice Specialists to deliver evidence-based practice support to practitioners across CareSouth’s service footprint.
The Practive Lead will be responsible, in consultation with the Manager, for the timely delivery of practice strengthening activities across CareSouth which align with CareSouth’s Strategic Plan.
What you need to be successful in your role:
- Identifies as an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person and is accepted by the Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander community.
- Relevant tertiary qualification in social work, social sciences, community development, Aboriginal studies or a related discipline and/or demonstrated extensive cultural knowledge, community standing and professional experience working with Aboriginal children, families and communities in the human services sector.
- Demonstrated experience in a leadership capacity within the OOHC, Early Intervention, Disability Services or Community Services sector.
- Demonstrated experience providing practice leadership, cultural guidance and mentoring within child, family or community-based services.
- Demonstrated experience influencing organisational systems, policy or practice to improve outcomes for Aboriginal children, young people and families.
- Strong ability to build effective relationships with Aboriginal communities, ACCOs, internal teams and external stakeholders
- High-level communication skills, including the ability to provide clear cultural advice, influence practice and contribute to governance processes.
- Current driver’s license and willingness to undertake travel between CareSouth offices on a regular basis.
