About the Role
As our Chef, you will be responsible for preparing and presenting high-quality dishes while maintaining consistency, food safety and efficient kitchen operations. You will work closely with the Head Chef and other kitchen staff to assist with menu preparation and provide customers with an excellent dining experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook Indian dishes, appetisers, main courses and desserts.
- Prepare ingredients according to recipes and kitchen standards.
- Maintain consistent food quality, presentation and portion control.
- Assist with developing new recipes, specials and menu items.
- Select appropriate ingredients and monitor their freshness and quality.
- Ensure all meals are prepared within required service times.
- Maintain a clean, organised and hygienic workstation.
- Follow food safety, workplace health and safety requirements.
- Monitor stock levels and assist with ordering kitchen supplies.
- Minimise food waste and support effective cost control.
- Work collaboratively with the Head Chef and kitchen team.
- Assist with training and supporting junior kitchen staff when required.
Skills and Experience
The successful applicant will ideally have:
- Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery or an equivalent qualification.
- Previous experience working as a Chef in a café, restaurant or similar hospitality environment.
- Strong knowledge and experience in preparing Indian cuisine.
- Sound understanding of food safety and kitchen hygiene requirements.
- Excellent cooking, food preparation and presentation skills.
- Ability to follow recipes and maintain consistent quality.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Good time-management and organisational abilities.
- A positive attitude, reliability and passion for producing quality food.

Pay: $75,000.00 – $85,000.00 per year
