We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Teachers’ Aide (K–6) to support student learning and wellbeing within our Junior School. This is a temporary part-time position, working two days per week for a six-month period.
About the role
Reporting to the Head of Junior School, the Teachers’ Aide works collaboratively with classroom teachers and Learning Support staff to support students with diverse learning needs.
This role is integral to the delivery of personalised learning programmes and contributes to creating a positive, inclusive and engaging learning environment for all students.
Key responsibilities include:

Supporting the implementation of personalised learning plans under the direction of the classroom teacher

Working with students individually and in small groups to reinforce learning outcomes

Assisting with structured literacy and teacher-designed programmes (e.g. MultiLit)

Preparing learning materials for students with additional needs

Providing feedback to the Learning Support Coordinator on student progress

Undertaking general administrative duties, including photocopying, filing and document preparation

Participating in playground supervision and accompanying students on excursions

Attending Learning Support meetings and collaborating with staff

Supporting the Catholic ethos, pastoral care programmes and liturgical life of the school

Contributing to a positive, respectful and inclusive school culture
About You
You are a compassionate and supportive Learning Support Assistant who is passionate about helping primary-aged students thrive in an inclusive learning environment.
You will demonstrate:

A Certificate III or IV in School Based Education Support (or equivalent)

Experience working with primary-aged students, particularly those with additional learning needs (highly desirable)

A patient, compassionate and supportive approach to working with students

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

The ability to work collaboratively within a team environment

Effective organisational skills and a high level of attention to detail

A commitment to supporting student wellbeing and inclusive education

A willingness to contribute to the broader life of the school community

A commitment to the ethos and values of a Catholic school
