Liverpool Boys High School is a comprehensive boys’ school in south-west Sydney with approximately 549 students. Celebrating rich cultural diversity, 88% of students come from language backgrounds other than English, representing nearly 60 cultural groups, and approximately 3% of students are Aboriginal. With significant equity funding, Liverpool Boys High School focuses on literacy, numeracy, attendance, and student wellbeing. Established in 2022, the Diverse Learning Unit supports 21 students in three autism classes (Stages 4–, offering specialised social skills and community access programs alongside personalised learning plans. Collaboration among teachers, families, and support staff enables students to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally while engaging fully in school and community life. Currently, the school operates from a temporary site as the new campus is constructed, with a merged boys and girls school set to open in 2028. Approval to teach Special Education and/or experience teaching students with autism, mild intellectual disabilities and complex behavioural or social needs in a Diverse Learning setting.
Demonstrated ability to design, implement, and evaluate differentiated, personalised and culturally responsive education programs that are data-informed to maximise student engagement, growth, achievement and well-being.
Highly developed communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to build positive partnerships with students, families and carers of diverse cultural and language backgrounds, school staff and external agencies to strengthen inclusive practice and improve student outcomes.
An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
