About your opportunity
The purpose of this position is to provide high quality clinical services, and in particular ACRRM trainee and junior doctor supervision and training, as a part of the multidisciplinary team delivering integrated primary, community and secondary level health services to the Indigenous community of Palm Island. Cultural safety is paramount.
1 x Permanent Full-time position and 1 x Fixed Term Temporary full-time position up to 28/03/2027 available.

Salary range: $187,569 to $274,678 p.a. (L13 - L27)
4 to 6 weeks annual leave with 14%-17.5% loading
12.75% employer contribution to superannuation
Plus Salary Sacrificing options may be available
Requirements:
Mandatory qualifications and proof of registration
Qualified as a medical practitioner, qualifications in speciality areas and current registration and/or eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia.
A Fellowed and experienced Rural Generalist is preferred:
FACRRM or FRACGP-RG is preferred but FRACGP with rural experience is highly desirable
Preferred that Already or able to be eligible for accreditation as a supervisor with FACRRM/ FRACGP
Qualified medical Practitioners that are on the General Practice/ Rural Generalist training pathways with ACRRM or RACGP and already obtained an Advanced Skill will be considered for the position.
Demonstration of commitment and planning to fellowship obtainment is essential.
Candidates who are on ACRRM or RACGP training pathways will be considered for Fixed Term Temporary roles at the lower classification until completion of their training requirements and fellowship is obtained, with Permanent appointment thereafter.
The role will participate in the On-Call roster at Joyce Palmer Health Service.
Travel: from time to time this position may be required to travel to and work at other facilities located within the THHS network to participate in roster backfill, quality, training or outreach services.
