New Zaks Kitchen is a busy restaurant located in Bathurst NSW, seeking an experienced Chef to join our team. The successful candidate will lead kitchen operations and deliver consistent, high-quality meals to our customers.
Job Description – Chef
Plan and develop menus, including estimating food and labour costs and ordering food supplies
Prepare and cook a range of authentic Indian dishes, ensuring consistency, quality and presentation standards are maintained.
Monitor the quality of food at all stages of preparation, cooking and presentation.
Discuss food preparation issues and menu planning with management, kitchen staff and other team members.
Demonstrate cooking techniques and provide guidance and training to kitchen staff on food preparation procedures.
Supervise kitchen operations to ensure efficient workflow and timely service.
Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene and workplace health and safety regulations.
Inspect food items and ingredients to ensure freshness and quality.
Control food costs by minimising wastage and maintaining appropriate stock levels.
Assist with recruitment, training and supervision of kitchen staff where required.
Implement procedures for storing, freezing and preserving food products.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of kitchen equipment, utensils and work areas.
Skills and Experience:
Relevant qualification in Commercial Cookery or equivalent.
Minimum 2 years of experience as a Chef.
Pay: $79,000.00 – $85,000.00 per year
