Test Analyst – Data Migration (SQL Focus)
Location: Sydney / Hybrid
Contract : Initial 6 months with potential extension
Start: ASAP
We are seeking a detail‑oriented Test Analyst to support data migration and data platform initiatives. This role is ideal for someone with a solid foundation in software/data testing and strong SQL skills, looking to build hands‑on experience in data quality validation and reconciliation.
You will work closely with data engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders to ensure migrated data is accurate, complete, and fit for purpose.
- Execute test cases for data migration and transformation activities
- Perform data validation and reconciliation between source and target systems
- Write and run SQL queries to compare datasets, identify anomalies, and validate business rules
- Log and track defects clearly, including evidence and impact analysis
- Support system testing and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) activities
- 2+ years’ experience in a Test Analyst / QA role
- Strong SQL skills (joins, aggregations, data comparison queries)
- Experience supporting data migration or ETL testing
- Understanding of data quality concepts: completeness, accuracy, consistency
- Experience working with large datasets
- Familiarity with defect management tools (e.g. JIRA
- Exposure to ETL / data pipelines or data warehousing concepts
- Basic experience with Python for data validation or test support
- Experience working in Agile delivery environments
- Exposure to UAT support and business stakeholder engagement
- Hands‑on experience in data migration and data platform projects
