Female Support Worker – Complex Care | Overnight Shifts
GNA Services is seeking a compassionate, reliable and experienced Female Support Worker to provide high-quality in-home support to an elderly female client in Howard Springs, Northern Territory.

Position Details
- Location: Howard Springs, NT
- Employment Type: Casual / Permanent Part-Time
- Shifts: Overnight, 9:00 PM – 6:00 AM
- Availability: 7 days per week
- Client: Elderly female with complex care needs
- Care setting: In-home/community care
About the Role
The successful Support Worker will provide person-centred care to a client who requires full assistance with activities of daily living following a Cerebrovascular Accident (CVA).
You will work as part of a two-person care team, ensuring the client remains safe, comfortable, supported and treated with dignity throughout the overnight shift.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide full personal care, including showering, dressing, grooming, oral care and toileting.
- Assist with feeding and hydration.
- Perform pressure care and regular repositioning.
- Support continence management, including suprapubic catheter care and monitoring.
- Monitor skin integrity and report concerns to the nursing team.
- Complete accurate progress notes and care documentation.
- Provide overnight monitoring and respond promptly to the client's needs.
- Use ceiling and portable hoists safely and correctly.
- Follow manual handling and care procedures.
- Maintain a culturally safe and respectful environment that supports Aboriginal cultural values and traditions.
- Work collaboratively with family members, support workers and clinical staff.
Essential Requirements
- Certificate III in Individual Support, Aged Care, Disability or equivalent.
- Current NDIS Worker Screening Check.
- Current First Aid and CPR Certificate.
- Current National Police Clearance.
- Valid Australian Driver's Licence.
- Reliable vehicle.
- Demonstrated experience supporting clients with high physical support needs.
- Experience using hoists and manual handling equipment.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a two-person care team.
- Strong communication and documentation skills.
- Comfortable providing full personal care.
Highly Desirable Experience
Experience in any of the following will be highly regarded:
- Complex care
- Suprapubic catheter management
- Pressure care and skin integrity monitoring
- Wound care support
- Palliative care
- Aged care
- Community or in-home care
- Culturally appropriate care for Aboriginal clients
