Position Description
Location: Gold Coast, Australia (coordinating the Shenzhen 3PL operation remotely)
Reports to: Founder/CEO
Employment type: Full-time
About Arete Supply Lab
Arete Supply Lab is an Australian-based cross-border third-party logistics (3PL) provider operating a Shenzhen-based fulfilment hub for eCommerce and direct-to-consumer brands. We manage pick-and-pack, multi-carrier international shipping and full order-to-delivery visibility to destination markets including Australia, New Zealand, the United States, Europe and beyond.
Our Growth Vision
Arete is entering an ambitious growth phase. We are establishing new 3PL fulfilment operations in Brisbane and Melbourne (Australia) and Texas (USA) — technologically advanced, highly automated facilities powered by robotics and AI-backed systems, engineered to deliver unparalleled speed, accuracy and scale. Our ambition is to set a new benchmark in eCommerce fulfilment and to outperform both the domestic automation specialists and the cross-border 3PL players that define our market today. This is a rare opportunity to help build a next-generation, multi-region fulfilment network from the ground up.
Role Summary
We are seeking a Gold Coast–based Project Manager to own the day-to-day performance of our China 3PL operation — the engine room and quality benchmark for the automated, multi-region network we are building. Acting as the bridge between the Shenzhen warehouse, carrier partners, our systems team and clients, you will drive on-time dispatch, KPI and SLA delivery, data accuracy and rapid issue resolution across the end-to-end fulfilment pipeline, and help carry that operational discipline into our new Australian and US facilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily operations across the Shenzhen warehouse, carrier partners and OMS/WMS platforms (client ERP/sales channel and warehouse data feeds), ensuring orders flow accurately from Shopify/client ERP through to dispatch.
- Produce and review daily shipment-tracking and KPI/SLA reports for clients, measuring performance against delivery targets such as the 7-working-day program.
- Identify, investigate and clear abnormal shipments — missing address or state/province data, out-of-stock, customs holds and carrier-handoff issues — driving resolution with the warehouse and client CX teams.
- Coordinate dispatch batches, order-data integrity and carrier allocation, managing exceptions through to dispatch.
- Own client communication and reporting cadence, including escalations and status updates to key stakeholders.
- Drive continuous improvement of reporting automation and operational processes, and contribute to the design and rollout of automated, AI-supported workflows across our new Australian and US facilities.
Skills & Experience
- 3+ years in 3PL, logistics, supply chain or operations/project management, ideally in cross-border eCommerce fulfilment.
- Strong analytical and Excel skills; confident working with OMS/WMS platforms (Cin7 or similar), Shopify and carrier systems.
- Experience coordinating offshore/China warehouse partners and excellent cross-cultural communication; Mandarin language skills are a definite advantage.
- Highly organised and detail-oriented, with a KPI/SLA-driven mindset and strong stakeholder management.
- A process- and automation-minded problem solver who thrives in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment; a genuine interest in warehouse automation, robotics and AI-driven fulfilment is highly regarded.
