Our Client:Our client is an industry leader in environmental and infrastructure services, specialising in the maintenance of critical underground assets across Australia and New Zealand. They are seeking a trade-qualified Heavy Vehicle or Plant Mechanic who is looking to expand their skills into robotics, CCTV inspection technology, and specialised underground infrastructure equipment.
Working on the afternoon shift, you will play a key role in ensuring our fleet and specialist equipment are fully operational and ready for deployment each morning. This is a unique opportunity to take ownership of fleet readiness while gaining hands-on experience with innovative robotic and electronic systems used throughout Australia's underground infrastructure industry.
The Role:This is not your typical workshop mechanic role. You'll be working on a combination of heavy vehicles, vacuum trucks, jetters, and specialised underground infrastructure equipment, while gaining hands-on experience with robotic CCTV inspection systems used to inspect underground pipelines.Approximately 60–70% of your role will involve diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining robotic CCTV inspection equipment, with the remainder focused on servicing diesel-powered fleet vehicles and specialised machinery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnose, repair, and maintain robotic CCTV inspection systems.
- Service and repair heavy vehicles, vacuum trucks, jetters, and specialised equipment.
- Perform preventative maintenance and breakdown repairs.
- Fault find across diesel engines, hydraulic, electrical, and electronic systems.
- Carry out welding and fabrication work as required.
- Maintain high safety and quality standards within the workshop.
Selection Criteria:To be considered for this role, you will have:
- Trade qualifications as a Heavy Vehicle or Plant Mechanic.
- Strong diesel mechanical experience.
- Experience with hydraulic and electrical systems.
- Interest in developing skills in robotics and specialised electronic equipment
- Able to pass a Drug & Alcohol test
- Own transport
