About the role:
The QS position is to provide project cost estimation services for all stages of Delivery Management projects, building and maintaining competitive pricing schedule databases, and ensuring that WHS, Community and environmental issues are integrated into the development of cost plans.
Your Responsibilities:
- Develop accurate project cost plans, budget estimates, and business cases aligned to scope, design and timelines, ensuring quality, safety and compliance at all stages.
- Maintain and manage pricing schedules and databases, monitoring market conditions, benchmarking data and industry indices to ensure costs remain current and competitive.
- Conduct cost analysis and validation, including tender reviews, labour and material assessments, and identification of anomalies or risks.
- Assess and manage cost risks and opportunities, including contingency planning, price escalation, and change control as project scope evolves.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to review estimates, support continuous improvement, and incorporate WHS, environmental and community considerations into all cost planning activities.
To be successful in this role, you will bring:

Relevant tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Construction Management or a related field (with finance, accounting or Quantity Surveying qualifications highly regarded), or equivalent industry experience.

Significant experience (7+ years) in project management, scheduling and cost estimating, ideally within civil infrastructure and water projects.

Advanced analytical, problem-solving and financial management skills, with the ability to interpret market factors and deliver accurate cost insights.

Strong stakeholder engagement skills, including influencing, negotiation and the ability to confidently present to senior stakeholders.

Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver under pressure, supported by high attention to detail, strong communication skills and proficiency in estimating systems and pricing databases.
