About the role
AEDC is an established child and adolescent clinic in Baulkham Hills with a strong focus on autism, ADHD, anxiety, emotional regulation and developmental support. You will be supported by an experienced clinical team, administration staff, supervision opportunities, and an existing referral base. The role is based in our purpose-built Baulkham Hills clinic and provides the stability and flexibility of ongoing contract work.
What you'll be doing
- Provide high-quality, evidence-based counselling and therapeutic support to children and adolescents, including individual therapy and small group interventions.
- Develop and implement tailored treatment plans that address each client’s emotional, behavioural, developmental and family needs.
- Maintain accurate, timely and professional client records, including case notes, attendance records and relevant documentation, in line with professional and organisational standards.
- Prepare professional written documentation, such as client progress reports, treatment summaries and correspondence with relevant stakeholders where required.
- Work collaboratively with families, schools, referrers and other members of the care team to support positive client outcomes.
What we're looking for
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in counselling, psychology, psychotherapy, social work or a related field.
- Current membership, registration or eligibility for membership with a relevant professional body, such as ACA, PACFA, AASW, AHPRA or equivalent.
- Experience providing counselling or therapeutic support to children and adolescents, particularly clients presenting with emotional, behavioural, developmental or neurodevelopmental concerns.
- A warm, ethical and client-centred approach, with the ability to build strong rapport with children, adolescents and families.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to work collaboratively with parents, carers, schools, referrers and other professionals.
- Ability to work independently while also contributing positively to a supportive multidisciplinary team.
- Sound professional judgement, including awareness of privacy, consent, child safety and mandatory reporting responsibilities.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development, reflective practice and continual improvement.

Aspiration Education and Development Clinic (AEDC) is a tertiary referral clinic that specialises in the treatment of Autism Spectrum Disorders, ADHD, as well as more generalist concerns (Anxiety, Depression, etc). AEDC is part of the National Early Childhood ILC Working Group, dedicating in research and evidence-based early intervention.
