We're looking for an experienced full-time Chef with a genuine understanding of Greek cuisine to join our Whitfords restaurant. The ideal candidate is hands-on, self-driven, and comfortable working independently in a fast-paced kitchen.
Key Responsibilities
- Support, motivate and coach cooks and kitchen team members
- Uphold high standards of safety and professionalism across all kitchen operations
- Manage costs related to goods, labour and expenses within agreed targets
- Provide monthly reports to the procurement team on stock, inventory, purchasing and suppliers
- Ensure compliance with all health, hygiene and food safety policies and legislation
- Oversee food production, presentation and live cooking stations to the highest standard
- Contribute fresh ideas for seasonal dishes and ongoing menu improvements
- Check the freshness and quality of ingredients
- Maintain and update menus per company standards, ensuring consistent recipes, portion sizes and presentation
- Supervise and coordinate kitchen staff and food preparation workers
- Plan and manage staff rosters
- Inspect supplies, equipment and work areas for cleanliness and functionality
- Meet all obligations under the WA Work Health and Safety Act
- Report incidents accurately and promptly to management
- Build strong customer relationships and resolve service concerns promptly
- Prepare meals in line with dietary requirements such as vegan or gluten-free
What We're Looking For
- Solid experience preparing food to a high standard across a varied menu
- Strong knowledge of different cooking methods, ingredients and techniques
- Confidence adjusting dishes to suit taste preferences and dietary needs
- Ability to thrive under pressure in a high-volume environment
- A high standard of personal hygiene and presentation
Essential Requirements
- AQF Associate Diploma/Advanced Diploma or higher
- 1–2 years' relevant experience in a similar role
- Australian Citizen/Permanent Resident, or full Australian working rights
Salary: $80,000–$85,000 plus superannuation
