Omnicom Oceania is looking for a Communications Manager to join our team in Melbourne.
The Communications Manager is responsible for protecting and enhancing the reputation of Omnicom Advertising through the delivery of strategic communications, executive profiling, media relations and compelling storytelling.
Working closely with the Head of Communications, Omnicom Oceania, the CEOs and agency leadership team, the role develops and delivers communications that showcase the agency's creativity, culture, people and commercial success across clients, talent, media and industry audiences.
The role is responsible for ensuring the Agency has a strong and consistent voice in market through proactive communications, earned media, thought leadership, awards support, internal communications and high-quality content.
This position plays an important role in strengthening the agency's profile, supporting leadership visibility and celebrating the work and people.
The role does not own new business development or commercial targets; however, it partners closely with agency leadership to ensure the agency's story, credentials and reputation support business growth.
Role Responsibilities
Communications Strategy & Reputation
- Support the implementation of the Agencies communications strategy in partnership with the Head of Communications, Omnicom Oceania.
- Develop communications plans for key business initiatives and agency priorities.
- Ensure all communications are aligned with the agency's positioning, values and creative ambition.
- Support reputation management and issues communications as required.
- Monitor communications activity and provide reporting and recommendations.
Executive Communications & Media Relations
- Execute the Agencies communications strategy in partnership with the Head of Communications, Omnicom Oceania and the CEOs.
- Manage day-to-day media relations, including proactive announcements, media enquiries and trade press engagement.
- Coordinate executive profiling opportunities, including interviews, speaking engagements, opinion pieces and industry events.
- Develop high-quality communications materials, including media releases, briefing documents, Q&As, speeches and presentations.
- Deliver communications around client wins, creative work, appointments, awards and key business milestones.
- Support reputation and issues management, escalating matters and working with the Head of Communications where required.
- Maintain strong relationships with key industry media and monitor coverage to identify amplification opportunities.
Content, Storytelling & Owned Channels
- Develop compelling agency content across owned and earned channels.
- Create high-quality case studies, articles, videos, social content and leadership communications.
- Develop agency credentials, presentations and storytelling assets.
- Maintain an editorial calendar that celebrates creative work, client success, agency culture and innovation.
- Partner with creative teams to ensure content reflects the quality and craft of the agency's work.
- Adapt and leverage individual agency global brand content where appropriate for the Australian market.
Awards Coordination & Recognition
- Coordinate Agencies awards programme, including calendars, deadlines, submissions and entry logistics.
- Work with agency teams to prepare high-quality award submissions, case studies and supporting materials.
- Manage awards administration, budgets and submission tracking.
- Coordinate agency participation in award programmes, ceremonies and industry recognition initiatives.
- Coordinate communications around award wins, shortlists and industry recognition across internal and external channels.
- Maintain awards reporting and ensure key milestones are delivered on time
Internal Communications
- Develop and deliver engaging internal communications that keep employees informed, connected and aligned with agency priorities.
- Coordinate leadership communications, including business updates, organisational announcements and Town Halls.
- Create content that celebrates agency culture, creative excellence, people and client success.
- Partner with People & Culture and the leadership team to communicate key initiatives and milestones.
- Ensure internal communications are timely, consistent and aligned with the agency's values and culture.
