At ATCO, we're looking for a Lead Employee Relations (ER) Partner who can navigate complexity, build trust and provide pragmatic advice that helps leaders make confident decisions.
This isn't your typical ER role.
You'll sit at the centre of some of the most important people and business conversations across ATCO, leading our employee and industrial relations agenda while partnering closely with executives and senior leaders. From enterprise bargaining and workforce change to complex employee matters and organisational growth initiatives, you'll play a key role in shaping the employee experience and driving commercially sound outcomes.
If you're someone who enjoys balancing strategy with hands-on problem solving, thrives in a dynamic environment and isn't afraid to challenge thinking when needed, we'd love to hear from you.
What you'll be doing
- Leading ATCO's employee and industrial relations agenda, balancing strategic priorities with hands-on delivery.
- Driving enterprise bargaining activities and building constructive relationships with unions, employee representatives and key stakeholders.
- Providing trusted advice and practical support to executives, leaders and People & Culture partners across complex employee and industrial relations matters.
- Managing investigations, disciplinary matters, grievances, performance concerns and other sensitive workplace issues.
- Supporting workforce change, restructures and organisational transformation initiatives through commercially sound people solutions.
- Owning and continuously improving Employee Relations policies, frameworks, governance and ways of working.
- Building leadership capability and using data and insights to identify risks, improve practices and drive better business outcomes.
What you'll bring
You'll likely bring experience as a Senior HR Business Partner, Employee Relations Specialist, Industrial Relations Advisor or a similar role where you've successfully balanced commercial outcomes with people-focused solutions.
We're particularly interested in people who have:
- Significant experience managing complex employee and industrial relations matters.
- Strong enterprise bargaining and union engagement experience.
- Experience advising senior leaders and influencing decision-making.
- A practical and commercially minded approach to solving workplace challenges.
- Confidence leading organisational change and workforce transformation initiatives.
- Strong knowledge of Australian employment and industrial relations legislation.
- The ability to navigate ambiguity, build credibility and bring people on the journey.
Why ATCO?
This is an opportunity to make a genuine impact.
You'll join a collaborative People & Culture team, work closely with senior leadership and play a key role in shaping how we support our people and business into the future.
At ATCO, we value curiosity, fresh ideas and people who are willing to challenge the status quo. You'll have the opportunity to influence meaningful change, strengthen leadership capability and help create a workplace where people can do their best work.
