- Lead procurement, contracts and supply functions for Australia’s only specialist eye, ear, nose and throat hospital.

About the Role
Reporting to the Executive Director Finance & Corporate Services, this leadership role provides both strategic oversight and hands-on operational leadership across procurement, supply chain, and contracts.
This is a unique opportunity to lead key enabling services that directly support clinical and operational areas across the Royal Eye and Ear Hospital.
The role will develop a Procurement Strategy and drive value, compliance and service improvement. The Strategy will consider a future delivery model including potential shared service efficiencies within the Parkville network of hospitals.
You will oversee hospital-wide procurement activities, including capital equipment, medical and general consumables, contract governance and supplier relationships. Working closely with HealthShare Victoria, Parkville Precinct partners and internal stakeholders, you will identify and implement opportunities to improve procurement, supply chain and contract management practices. You will be innovation in driving efficiencies, reducing costs and contributing to the hospital’s financial sustainability.
The role will provide expert advice to Executive and Board stakeholders, preparing high-quality plans, reports, and recommendations.

Key responsibilities:
- Procurement and tendering processes
- Contract advice, development, governance and the central contract register
- Supplier relationship management
- Supply chain and inventory management
- Logistics, stores and distribution oversight
- Outsourced support services contracts
- Environmental reporting and continuous improvement initiatives
- Preparation of procurement, contract and supply-related reports, business cases and submissions to Executives and Board.
This role is offered full-time, fixed term for two years.
About you
You’re an experienced procurement, supply chain or contract management leader with strong public sector procurement knowledge and the ability to balance strategic oversight with practical, hands-on delivery. You communicate with confidence, build trusted relationships across a broad range of stakeholders, and bring a strong understanding of probity and compliance. Beyond leading an internal team, you will act as a trusted partner and build collaborative relationships across the Parkville Precinct to support innovation and efficiency.
You will bring:
- Proven senior experience in a similar role
- Strong contract management experience, including supplier relationship management, negotiation, tendering and contract performance oversight.
- Proven people leadership experience, including coaching, mentoring and developing teams through change, continuous improvement and evolving operational priorities.
- A sound understanding of probity, compliance, delegations and procurement governance.
- Experience managing large or complex contracts and supporting effective supplier and contract performance.
- Demonstrated experience in public sector procurement and tendering, including knowledge of Victorian Government directions and relevant procurement guidelines is desirable
- Demonstrated experience preparing executive and board papers, business cases and governance submissions, including presenting complex information, risks and recommendations to senior leaders and governing bodies.
- Experience leading service improvement initiatives
- Strong IT capability, including experience using procurement, contract management, eProcurement, inventory and Microsoft Office systems.
