Independent Disability Support Worker – Contractor Opportunity
Happy Living Support Services is looking for energetic, upbeat and charismatic independent support workers to join our growing team on a subcontractor basis across Melbourne’s northern suburbs.
We’re looking for people who are warm, reliable and easy to get along with—someone who can build genuine connections with participants while maintaining professional boundaries and providing consistent, person-centred support.
The role may involve:
- Supporting participants with daily living activities and personal care
- Community access, social outings and recreational activities
- Transporting participants to appointments and programs
- Supporting participants with complex or high support needs
- Following behaviour support plans and positive de-escalation strategies
- Completing clear progress notes and reporting incidents or concerns
- Working collaboratively with families and the wider support team
The ideal applicant will:
- Be energetic, confident, patient and approachable
- Have experience supporting people with disability, including participants with high or complex needs
- Be comfortable supporting participants with behaviours of concern
- Communicate well and build natural, respectful relationships
- Be dependable, flexible and willing to provide consistent support
- Bring a positive attitude and genuinely enjoy helping participants engage in the community
- Be comfortable working independently as a contractor
Applicants must have or be willing to obtain:
- A valid ABN and appropriate contractor insurance
- NDIS Worker Screening Check
- Working with Children Check
- First Aid and CPR qualifications
- A valid driver’s licence and access to a reliable vehicle
- Relevant qualifications or disability support experience
