We are currently seeking a Welder / Metal Fabricator to join our busy team located in Hope Valley for an immediate start. This is an ongoing role for the right person with on the job training provided.
The role will require the welding and fabrication of steel products. You will be technically minded with the ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications. Minimum 38 hours per week but will be expected to work a reasonable amount of overtime when required.
Main Tasks:
- Fabrication and welding of steel
- Oxy cutting of all steel including lintels, t-bars and structural columns
- Assemble steel sections, lintels, beams, columns and related structural components
- Work independently following detailed shop drawings and hand drawn details
- Checking fabricated and assembled parts for accuracy, clearance and fit
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment
- Follow correct safety procedures and work practices
Essential Requirements:
- Trade Qualified
- AQF Certificate III or equivalent
- Must have a minimum of 3 years of work experience
- Experience with light structural steel highly regarded
- Strong commitment to safety
- Be physically fit
- Punctual and reliable
- Driver's license
- Attention to detail
- Good organisational and time management skills
- Be able to work in a fast pace workshop
