About the Company
Our client is a well-established Australian manufacturer specialising in custom sheet metal fabrication and engineered solutions. Due to continued growth, they are seeking an experienced Drafting Coordinator to join their team in Penrith and play a key role in managing projects from concept through to production.
The Opportunity
This is more than a drafting role. You will be the link between clients, the drafting team, and manufacturing operations, ensuring projects are delivered accurately, efficiently, and on time.
Utilising your SolidWorks expertise and sheet metal knowledge, you will coordinate workloads, manage project priorities, and maintain strong communication with customers and internal stakeholders throughout the manufacturing process.
Key Responsibilities:

Produce and review detailed sheet metal drawings using SolidWorks

Coordinate and prioritise workloads across the drafting team and allocate projects as required

Liaise directly with clients to understand project requirements and provide updates

Work closely with the factory team to ensure drawings are practical, accurate, and production-ready

Manage multiple projects and competing deadlines

Build strong relationships with customers and internal teams to ensure successful project delivery
About You

Previous experience in sheet metal drafting and manufacturing environments

Proficient in SolidWorks

Strong understanding of sheet metal fabrication processes

Excellent communication and relationship-building skills

Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities

Professional, approachable, and confident, dealing directly with clients and stakeholders

Engineering qualifications are not essential; practical experience and the right attitude are highly valued
