FULL-TIME COOK – ITALIAN RESTAURANT
TÁVOLA Restaurant is seeking an experienced and reliable Cook to join our kitchen team in Bentleigh, Victoria.

Salary: $80,000 per annum plus superannuation
About the role
The successful candidate will work as part of our kitchen team, preparing and cooking high-quality Italian food while maintaining TÁVOLA’s standards of consistency, presentation, food safety and service.
Key responsibilities
- Preparing and cooking dishes according to restaurant recipes and standards
- Examining ingredients and food products to ensure quality and freshness
- Organising mise en place and managing an allocated kitchen section during service
- Operating and regulating ovens, grills and other commercial cooking equipment
- Portioning, plating and garnishing dishes consistently
- Preparing dishes for guests with allergies or special dietary requirements
- Maintaining correct food storage, stock rotation and temperature-control procedures
- Complying with all food-safety, hygiene and workplace health and safety requirements
- Assisting with menu planning and estimating food requirements
- Monitoring portions, stock levels and food waste
- Supporting and training junior kitchen staff when required
- Working collaboratively with the kitchen and front-of-house teams
Requirements
- A relevant commercial cookery qualification or equivalent professional experience
- At least one year of relevant experience working as a Cook in a commercial kitchen
- Sound knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques and kitchen operations
- Experience with Italian cuisine is highly regarded
- Strong attention to quality, presentation and consistency
- Good organisational, communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced restaurant environment
- Availability to work evenings, weekends and public holidays as required
