We are seeking a compassionate and reliable Disability Support Worker to join our team in West Pennant Hills. This role will initially commence on a part-time basis, with opportunities for additional hours depending on client needs.
As a Disability Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing person-centred care and support to NDIS participants within a Supported Independent Living (SIL) environment and the broader community. You will assist participants with daily living tasks, personal care, community access, and skill development while promoting independence, dignity, and choice.
Key Responsibilities:

Provide support with daily living activities and personal care.

Assist participants with showering, grooming, dressing, and hygiene needs.

Prepare nutritious meals and support participants with cooking and meal planning.

Support participants to access and engage in community activities, appointments, and social outings.

Transport participants safely to appointments, activities, and community events.

Monitor participant wellbeing and report any concerns to management.

Maintain accurate records and complete required documentation.

Promote participant independence and encourage skill development.

Provide overnight support within a SIL environment, including inactive overnight shifts when required.

Build positive and professional relationships with participants, families, and other stakeholders.
Essential Criteria

Current Australian Driver's Licence.

Strong driving skills and safe driving record.

Current First Aid Certificate.

Ability to communicate effectively in English.

Experience or willingness to assist with personal care, including showering support.

Basic cooking and meal preparation skills.

Compassionate, patient, and reliable approach to supporting people with disability.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Willingness to work overnight shifts within a Supported Independent Living (SIL) setting.
