About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and motivated ICT Service Desk Engineer (Level 2) to join our ICT team based in our Bulwer Island office in Pinkenba, Brisbane. Reporting to the ICT Manager, you’ll be responsible for providing technical support to end-users, troubleshooting and resolving technical issues, and ensuring the smooth operation of our ICT systems. You’ll act as the first point of contact for ICT requests from our staff, triage issues confidently, and resolve them independently, whilst keeping our staff informed throughout the process. You'll take ownership of your own ticket queue, handling everything from desktop and telephony support through to cloud administration.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and prioritise tickets in the JIRA ICT Service Desk system
Provide technical support to end-users by phone, email, or in-person
Administer and support Microsoft 365 services in the Azure public cloud, including Active Directory / Entra ID, MS Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, Defender and Teams
Adhere to security controls, maintain backups, monitor patching and system health processes
Administer the cyber security training system and provide cyber risk reduction advice and support to end-users
Troubleshoot issues related to hardware, software, and network connectivity across Windows 10/11 desktops and laptops, Windows Servers, Android and iOS devices
Onboard and offboard employees
Manage user identity, access, MFA, conditional access, and security policies
Escalate complex issues to the ICT manager, external vendors and partners
Monitor and maintain ICT systems to ensure optimal performance and availability
Contribute to improving support processes and documentation
Deliver internal projects, including developing a scope of works with internal users
Support end‑user device lifecycle activities for laptops, desktops, phones, tablets and cellular routers
Manage iOS and Android mobile devices with the Manage Engine MDM
Monitor recurring issues and identify opportunities to improve
Communicate clearly and empathetically with users of all levels of technical ability
About you
Microsoft 365 including tenancy administration, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, Entra AD, Microsoft Defender, Exchange Online
Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) with the ability to engage multiple stakeholders
3+ years Windows Server administration experience
5+ years desktop support experience
