Due to continued business growth, we are seeking an experienced and motivated Floor Finisher to join our team on a full-time basis.
Position Overview
The Floor Finisher will be responsible for preparing, installing, repairing, sanding, coating and finishing various flooring surfaces to a high professional standard. The successful candidate will work on a variety of commercial, industrial and residential flooring projects while ensuring quality workmanship and compliance with workplace health and safety requirements.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepare flooring surfaces for installation and finishing.
- Measure, cut, install and repair flooring materials.
- Sand, grind and level floor surfaces using specialised equipment.
- Apply coatings, sealers, epoxy systems and protective finishes.
- Mix and apply floor finishing products according to manufacturer specifications.
- Install and finish timber, vinyl, resin, concrete and other flooring systems.
- Inspect completed work to ensure quality standards are achieved.
- Operate and maintain flooring tools, machinery and equipment.
- Read and interpret plans, specifications and project requirements.
- Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety procedures.
- Work independently and as part of a team to meet project deadlines.
Skills, Qualifications and Experience Required
- Relevant trade qualification (Certificate III or equivalent) in Flooring Technology, Floor Finishing, Construction or a related field; OR
- At least 2 years of relevant full-time work experience as a Floor Finisher, Floor Layer or similar occupation.
- Demonstrated experience in floor preparation, sanding, coating and finishing techniques.
- Experience working with epoxy coatings, concrete coatings, timber flooring finishes or similar flooring systems is highly regarded.
- Ability to safely operate flooring equipment and power tools.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality workmanship.
- Ability to work effectively within a team environment.
- Good communication skills.
- Current White Card (or ability to obtain prior to commencement).
- Current driver's licence preferred.
