About the Role
We are seeking Registered Music Therapists to join our growing team to provide services via telehealth working from home. In this role, you will:
Key Responsibilities
· Assess Client Needs: Evaluate a participant's physical health, communication skills, emotional well-being, and cognitive abilities through musical responses.
· Design Custom Programs: Create tailored, goal-oriented music interventions like singing, instrument playing, songwriting, or music listening to meet specific NDIS objectives.
· Build Functional Skills: Use rhythm and melody to improve speech, physical coordination, gross and fine motor skills, and social communication.
· Support Emotional Regulation: Use targeted musical frequencies and tempos to help clients manage anxiety, process trauma, and express complex feelings.
· Document and Report: Track participant progress systematically, writing clinical case notes and official NDIS progress reports for funding reviews.
· Collaborate in Teams: Coordinate closely with other allied health professionals, like speech pathologists and occupational therapists, to ensure cohesive care.
Qualifications & Requirements
Essential:
- Accredited University Degree: The practitioner must hold an AMTA-approved tertiary qualification.
- Music Therapist : Active Registered Music Therapist (RMT) status with the Australian Music Therapy Association (AMTA).
- Knowledge of NDIS Practice Standards and NDIS Framework,
- Current Working with Children Check (WWCC)
- NDIS Worker Screening Check (or willingness to obtain).
- Australian work rights
- An ABN is a requirement for this role
- Laptop, Phone, Home office materials required (by commencement date)
- Professional Indemnity Insurance Minimum $250,000 and Public Liability Insurance (by commencement date)
Desirable:
- Experience working with individuals with intellectual disability, autism spectrum disorder, and/or complex behaviours of concern.
What We Offer
