About Us
Adventure Patch is a proud Tasmanian community-based not-for-profit at the heart of early childhood education and care. Founded in 1980, we have grown from a small occasional care service in Blackmans Bay into a statewide organisation delivering Long Day Care, Family Day Care, Outside School Hours Care, and Vacation Care across Tasmania.
Our philosophy is simple: childhood deserves joy, wonder, and adventure. Everything we do from the way our educators work alongside children in nature to how we lead our organisation is shaped by our commitment to adventurous play, inclusion, and real community connection.
With service expansion and facility development underway, this is a great time to join a well-regarded organisation with deep community roots and the opportunity to help shape what comes next.
About the role
Based in Blackmans Bay, lutruwita (Tasmania), the CEO will work closely with the Board and leadership team to deliver Adventure Patch’s strategic direction. The role calls for both rigour and warmth—someone who can navigate financial sustainability, regulatory complexity, workforce strategy, and service expansion while protecting the culture and child-centred philosophy that make Adventure Patch distinctive.
The CEO will also hold statutory responsibilities as a Person with Management or Control under the Education and Care Services National Law.
About you
You are an accomplished senior executive with experience leading a complex, multi-service or multi-site organisation. Alongside strong financial acumen and governance capability, you bring a genuine commitment to child safety, inclusion, and leading people with care.
You may come from early childhood education or another mission-driven, regulated sector such as health, disability, community services, or not-for-profit leadership. What matters most is your ability to lead with integrity, build trusted relationships, and deliver outcomes that make a real difference for children, families, and the community.
Together with the executive team, you will lead important projects to strengthen the workforce, grow services, and ensure the organisation remains financially and strategically strong for the future.
