The Opportunity

BlueScope Distribution, Orrcon Steel Distribution, Metalcorp and Impact Steel are joined by one leadership team under Distribution, ASP. Collectively our distribution businesses form one of Australia's largest steel and aluminium distribution networks, supporting customers across 31 sites in metro and regional locations. Supporting customers with all of their product, processing and solution needs.
We're looking for a curious, improvement-minded and highly collaborative Delivery & Optimisation Manager to help shape the future of how Distribution operates.
In this role, you’ll lead transformation initiatives that simplify work, unlock digital capability and improve how people, processes and systems come together to deliver value for customers. Working closely with stakeholders across the organisation, you’ll help turn ideas into outcomes, challenge the status quo and deliver meaningful change through innovation, simplification and digital enablement.
What makes this role different?
This is more than a continuous improvement role.
You'll have the opportunity to influence how one of Australia's largest distribution networks evolves its processes, systems and ways of working. You'll work across operational, supply chain and technology teams, helping shape a pipeline of initiatives that improve productivity, enhance user experience and support future digital capability.
This role is less about being a technical systems expert and more about understanding how work really happens across the business. You’ll ask the right questions, connect the right people and turn operational challenges into practical improvements that are understood, adopted and sustained.
What Will You Do?
In this broad and influential role, you will:
-
lead business process improvement and optimisation initiatives across BlueScope Distribution and related supply chain functions
-
facilitate workshops and collaboration sessions to uncover improvement opportunities across planning, scheduling, order fulfilment, production and supply chain processes
-
map, analyse and simplify cross-functional workflows to improve flow, reduce duplication and remove operational pain points
-
support SAP, workflow and business systems improvement initiatives in partnership with internal specialists
-
lead a pipeline of improvement projects, ensuring initiatives are delivered with clear outcomes and measurable business benefits
-
support teams through change by helping embed new ways of working, building capability and driving adoption
More About You
You thrive on making things better. You’re a strong communicator and natural facilitator who can build trust, influence outcomes and bring stakeholders together to solve problems.
You might be a project manager, business analyst, customer experience specialist, operations leader, supply chain specialist or continuous improvement professional. You may also bring experience from another part of the business, or from a different industry where you’ve led change, solved complex problems and improved performance.
What sets you apart is your curiosity, initiative and ability to bring people together to create better outcomes.
You enjoy:
-
challenging the status quo and exploring new ways of working
-
turning ideas into practical, deliverable solutions
-
simplifying complexity and removing operational pain points
-
building trusted relationships across different teams and functions
-
delivering change that people genuinely adopt and embrace
You will bring:
-
experience leading improvement, transformation, digital, business systems or project initiatives
-
strong stakeholder engagement and influencing capability
-
the ability to facilitate conversations that uncover opportunities and drive action
-
a structured approach to problem-solving and delivery
-
confidence navigating ambiguity and helping others through change
Exposure to SAP, other ERP platforms or structured project delivery methodologies will be highly regarded, but is not essential. We’re more interested in your ability to identify opportunities, bring people together and deliver meaningful outcomes.
If you're motivated by solving complex problems, influencing change and making a visible impact, we'd encourage you to apply.
