Salary - $70,000 - $80,000 plus superannuation per annum

THE ROLE:
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Cook to work in a busy commercial kitchen preparing high-quality modern Australian meals. The successful applicant will support efficient kitchen operations while maintaining consistently high standards of food quality, presentation and food safety.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
· Prepare and cook a wide variety of modern Australian pub-style meals, including pizzas, burgers, schnitzels, seafood dishes, salads, share plates, desserts and seasonal specials in accordance with established recipes.
· Prepare ingredients for service, including portioning, marinating, seasoning and organising food items to ensure efficient kitchen operations.
· Operate commercial kitchen equipment using grilling, frying, baking and other cooking techniques while maintaining consistency in quality and presentation.
· Monitor cooking processes and ensure meals are prepared, portioned and presented to a consistently high standard.
· Assist with menu preparation, daily specials and seasonal menu updates in collaboration with the kitchen team.
· Maintain food safety, hygiene, temperature control and food storage procedures in accordance with Food Safety Standards and workplace regulations.
· Assist with stock control by monitoring inventory, checking deliveries and storing ingredients correctly to minimise waste and maintain product quality.
· Work collaboratively with the kitchen team to deliver efficient lunch, dinner and function service during busy trading periods.
· Maintain a clean, organised and safe kitchen environment, ensuring all equipment and food preparation areas comply with Workplace Health and Safety requirements.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
- Relevant qualification, such as a Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery (or agreed equivalent).
- Minimum of 1 year (preferably more) experience as a Cook in a busy restaurant, hotel, brewery or similar hospitality venue.
- Experience preparing a broad range of modern Australian or pub-style meals using grill, fryer, oven and pizza preparation techniques.
- Sound knowledge of food preparation, stock rotation, portion control and kitchen organisation.
- Understanding of food safety, HACCP principles and Workplace Health and Safety requirements.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining high standards of food quality and presentation.
- Excellent communication, organisational and time management skills.
- A positive attitude, strong work ethic and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Availability to work across weekdays, evenings, weekends and public holidays.
- You must have unrestricted working rights to work full time in Australia to be eligible for consideration.
