About the opportunity
NSW Health Pathology at Concord Hospital is seeking a permanent part-time Technical Officer to join its busy Microbiology laboratory. The role involves performing routine core diagnostic microbiology duties, including pre-analytical tasks and position-appropriate post-analytical responsibilities. This is a Technical Officer–level position, and credentialed applicants will only be considered for the substantive Technical Officer role, with remuneration aligned to Technical Officer salary scales. The successful candidate will participate in an after-hours rotational roster. Standard working hours are 8:30am to 5:00pm, with additional shifts including morning (6:00am to 2:30pm), evening (1:30pm to 10:00pm), and weekend shifts (Saturday and Sunday, 8:30am to 5:00pm).
What you'll be doing
Perform a range of laboratory investigations and tests (manual and automated) and technical tasks by applying established methods and procedures, as directed. Undertake other laboratory duties including preparation of materials and the maintenance of equipment in line with established laboratory processes, procedures and protocols.
