Council is seeking an experienced and motivated Network and Telecommunications Administrator to play a key role in the design, implementation, support and continuous improvement of our enterprise network and telecommunications environment.
This hands-on position is responsible for ensuring the reliability, performance and security of critical network infrastructure, telecommunications services and connectivity across the organisation.
- Design, implement, administer and support LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi, firewall, telecommunications and mobile service environments.
- Develop and implement network strategies that meet current and future business requirements.
- Manage and support routers, switches, firewalls, WAN services and wireless infrastructure.
- Monitor network performance, capacity and availability, identifying opportunities for optimisation and improvement.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex network and telecommunications issues to minimise service disruption.
- Work collaboratively with vendors, service providers and internal stakeholders to deliver reliable technology services.
- Develop, maintain and improve technical documentation, standards and operational procedures.
- Participate in infrastructure projects, technology upgrades and continuous improvement initiatives.

- Relevant Information Technology qualifications, industry certifications, or equivalent demonstrated experience.
- Proven experience designing, implementing and supporting resilient enterprise network environments.
- Experience with HPE Aruba switching and wireless networking solutions.
- Experience working with Fortinet technologies, including FortiGate, FortiManager and FortiAnalyzer.
- Experience with network monitoring, performance analysis and troubleshooting tools.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to resolve complex technical issues.
- Well-developed communication, stakeholder engagement and customer service skills.
- The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

This position is based in Tweed Heads, and can be directed to work from any Council work site.

Selection Criteria:
- Why are you interested in working at Tweed Shire Council, and what excites you most about this particular opportunity?
- Degree in Information Technology, Computing Science or a related discipline or equivalent demonstrated experience working as a Network Administrator or similar role.
- Demonstrated experience designing, implementing and supporting enterprise network and telecommunications infrastructure, including switching, routing, wireless networking, WAN services and network security technologies.
- Demonstrated experience administering enterprise networking and security technologies, including HPE Aruba switching and wireless solutions and Fortinet security platforms.
- Demonstrated ability to monitor, analyse and optimise network performance, identify issues and implement effective solutions to maintain service availability.
- Demonstrated ability to investigate, troubleshoot and resolve complex network and telecommunications issues in a large enterprise environment.
- Demonstrated high-level communication, stakeholder engagement and customer service skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
